SESRIC participated in the 21st ASEAN-Occupational Safety and Health Network (ASEAN-OSHNET) Coordinating Board Meeting (CBM)

SESRIC participated in the 21st ASEAN-Occupational Safety and Health Network (ASEAN-OSHNET) Coordinating Board Meeting (CBM), which was hosted by the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare of Lao People's Democratic Republic on 15 October 2020.
During the session on: “Cooperation of ASEAN-OSHNET with External Parties”, presentations and speeches were delivered by the representatives of the following institutions: International Labour Organization (ILO), International Association of Labour Inspection (IALI), Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (KOSHA), Korea Development Institute (KDI), and SESRIC.
During the session, H.E Mr. Nebil DABUR, Director General of SESRIC delivered a speech in which he briefed the participants on SESRIC’s efforts in the area of OSH. He highlighted the Centre’s role in facilitating knowledge exchange and sharing of best practices within the framework of the OIC Occupational Safety and Health Network (OIC-OSHNET) and SESRIC Occupational Safety and Health Capacity Building Programme (OSH-CaB). He also underlined the importance of the continuity of joint efforts between the two Networks and expressed SESRIC’s readiness and willingness to further collaborate and enhance the already existing partnership ties between the OIC-OSHNET and the ASEAN-OSHNET.
The ASEAN-OSHNET is a regional network that has its origin in the ILO Programme for the Improvement of Working Condition and Environment (PIACT), which was launched in 1976. The network aims to collect and disseminate information within the ASEAN countries and to manage research and training for the improvement of working condition and environment.
