Training Course on ‘OSH Inspection Services’
The Directorate General of Occupational Safety and Health (DGOSH) of the Ministry of Labour and Social Security of the Republic of Turkey, in its capacity as the Secretariat of the OIC Occupational Safety and Health Network (OIC-OSHNET), organised a Training Course on “OSH Inspection Services” on 24-26 May 2021 through an online video conferencing platform. The training course aimed to shed light on the importance of well-structured inspection services and provide a better understanding of how OSH authorities can take further steps to reduce human and economic costs due to unsafe workplaces and work-related injuries. H.E. Mr. Nebil DABUR, Director General of SESRIC and H.E. Mr. Cafer UZUNKAYA, Director General of the DGOSH of the Ministry of Labour and Social Security of the Republic of Turkey, delivered their welcoming remarks to the participants at the opening session. In his speech, H.E. Mr. DABUR stressed that recognising the importance of the welfare and safety of employees and workers should stand as a key element in any workplace, to not only protect them but also to increase productivity and growth, generate customer confidence and enhance business reputation. He also expressed his gratitude to the Secretariat of the OIC-OSHNET for their efforts in organising this important capacity building training activity designed in line with the OIC-OSHNET Work Plan 2021-2022. The OIC-OSHNET is an OIC platform established to create closer cooperation among the national OSH Institutions of the OIC Member States through sharing knowledge, experience and best practices.
