SESRIC participated in the 22nd ASEAN-Occupational Safety and Health Network (ASEAN-OSHNET) Coordinating Board Meeting

SESRIC participated in the 22nd ASEAN-Occupational Safety and Health Network (ASEAN-OSHNET) Coordinating Board Meeting, which was hosted virtually by the Department of Occupational Safety and Health of the Ministry of Human Resources Malaysia on 24 August 2021.
During the session on: “Cooperation of ASEAN-OSHNET with External Parties”, presentations were delivered by the representatives of the following institutions: International Labour Organization (ILO), International Association of Labour Inspection (IALI), and SESRIC.
During this session, Mr. Onur ÇAĞLAR, Director of Training and Technical Cooperation Department, delivered a presentation on “Strengthening Cooperation between ASEAN-OSHNET and OIC-OSHNET to Foster a Safe and Healthy Working Environment in the Member States”. In his presentation, he highlighted the Centre’s role in facilitating knowledge exchange and sharing of best practices within the framework of the OIC Occupational Safety and Health Network (OIC-OSHNET) and SESRIC Occupational Safety and Health Capacity Building Programme (OSH-CaB). He also stressed the importance of the continuity of joint efforts between the two Networks and reiterated SESRIC’s readiness and willingness to further collaborate and enhance the already existing partnership ties between the OIC-OSHNET and the ASEAN-OSHNET.
The ASEAN-OSHNET is a regional network that has its origin in the ILO Programme for the Improvement of Working Condition and Environment (PIACT), which was launched in 1976. The network aims to collect and disseminate information within the ASEAN countries and manage research and training to improve working conditions and the environment.
